A group of young people aged 11 - 17 years old researching and mapping the exploits of Alexander the Great at the University of Cambridge.

Hello. This is a short audio from the start of the day, just after we
started our Data Managing. Eliza is from Group 5 and I [Claire] am from
Group 1. I have switched jobs since then but the Alexander the Great
camp has been amazing fun! It's very interesting: we have been taught a
lot with the powerpoints and leaflet. I hope to continue learning at
this pace, so I will know all about Alexander by the end.
Group 5 have been working hard on their map during the morning. Here's their work so far. There are some additonal points to add once they've finished researching some of the places which are a little harder to identify! We're not sure about the accuracy of Hermotus though - perhaps this needs a little more refining?
The students have spent the morning using GIS mapping technology to map the exploits of Alexander the Great's journey and battles in his conquest of the Persian Empire, using the Arrian's Alexander the Great text, translated by Martin Hammond. They're now learning about the next stage of Alexander's life...including his time in Egypt.
